Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, our volunteers will be making weekly phone calls to the shut-in, writing notes and mailing them out.
About our organization
Enriching the lives of senior citizens to make a difference in our community
Welcome to Adopt a Mom and Pop (AMAP). We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving the Metro Atlanta community. AMAP was formed on October 29, 2008 by Ulmaria Williams (CEO), with the intention of engaging senior citizens in stimulating activities, 1 on 1 visitations, as well as providing them with beneficial resources. AMAP partners with facilities throughout the Metro-Atlanta community to provide seniors with purpose and to help mitigate the often isolating effects of growing older. Check out our events, or read some testimonials from seniors and volunteers.
Why we do it
Pairing Dedicated Volunteers with Seniors in Metro Atlanta
Our volunteers bring all of their energy and enthusiasm to 1 on 1 time with their seniors. We work to ensure that volunteers build lasting relationships with the seniors they serve and that long-term friendships are formed between those who volunteer with us and those whom the organization serves. We believe that all senior citizens have a right to companionship – that’s why we started this non-profit in 2008, and it’s what we strive to accomplish with every new event. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer, just use our convenient online volunteer registration form and start making a difference alongside Adopt a Mom and Pop.
